Amy grew up in United States, her father's homeland. There she lived a quite happy life with her parents, brother and half-sister. However, seven years ago her parents got divorced and it's not been many years since she moved to Finland with her mother and brother. Her mother is born Finnish and because of that Amy has always been able to speak Finnish alongside English making her bilingual.

Despite the time that has passed Amy is not happy with her life in Finland. She has suffered of homesickness ever since moving there and still considers the States her home.

Katariina is Amy's mother. She used to be married to a American man John Clifftop who is the father of Amy and Albert and stepfather to her eldest daughter. During her marriage she lived in States but a few years after divorcing her husband she moved to Finland with her two youngest children. She works as a lawyer.

Anne Koskela

Anne is Katariina's eldest child outside of marriage with a Finnish man. She doesn't remember her real father who she lost when she was only three years old and thus so considers her stepfather her only father. She's a comic artist currently living in Britain and travels around a lot on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Albert Clifftop

Albert is Amy's older brother and second oldest of Katariina's children. He studies mechanics in college and knows a lot of cars and domestic appliance and of how they function. One night Albert hears a strange call and in a curious trance he walks trough a magical portal. Amy follows him and steps on a road of adventure.
